Clinical Competence in Cardiac CT – interactive DVD library
Clinical Competence in Cardiac CT is an interactive self assessment training tool on DVD. The goal of this home study program is to train doctors to meet their ACCF/AHA Level 1 and Level 2 Credentialing requirements in Cardiac CT with Case review and CME credit.
The four volume library features 160 case studies total. The use of Dual Source CT was integral to all volumes as it allowed to have vivid images for all cases. A range of cardiac cases are covered in these studies, including coronary anatomy variants and anomalies, coronary artery disease, pulmonary veins, myocardium valves and function, and extra-cardiac findings.
After reviewing the case images at a simulated workstation, the user answers the question. The answer is judged, and a detailed explanation is provided.
Volume 1 – published in 2007 by Meetings By Mail – was developed by Dr. Joseph Schoepf and Dr. Christian Thilo of the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC). The DVD-ROM was “highly recommended” in published review by RadioGraphics. Case studies of volumes 2 to 4 – due to release in spring 2009 – were provided by Dr. Schoepf and Dr. Balazs Ruzsics (MUSC).
